ARCvi Privacy Policy

Effective date: July 25, 2026

ARCvi—Actionable Resources for Change in Violence Intervention—is committed to respecting the privacy of visitors to ARCvi.org. This Privacy Policy explains what information we may collect through the website, how we use and protect it, and the choices available to website visitors.

ARCvi is a capacity-building and educational resource developed at Temple University for community-based organizations, practitioners, researchers, funders, and others interested in community violence intervention. ARCvi.org is independently hosted and is not part of Temple University’s web domain or hosting infrastructure. Information collected through ARCvi.org is therefore governed by the practices described in this ARCvi Privacy Policy.

Information We Collect

You may browse most of ARCvi.org without providing personal information.

We may collect information that you voluntarily provide when you:

  • Submit a question or suggestion through a contact form;
  • Register for an event, webinar, or mailing list; or
  • Otherwise contact the ARCvi team.

Depending on the form or service, this information may include your name, email address, organization, professional role, and the content of your message.

Please do not submit names or identifying information about program participants, clients, victims, witnesses, or active cases through the ARCvi website.

Website and Technical Information

Like most websites, ARCvi.org may automatically collect limited technical information when you visit the site. This may include:

  • Internet Protocol address;
  • Browser and device type;
  • Pages visited;
  • Date and time of access;
  • Referring website;
  • General geographic region; and
  • Information collected through cookies or similar technologies.

We may use WordPress plugins, website analytics, security tools, or hosting services that collect this information.

How We Use Information

ARCvi may use information collected through the website to:

  • Respond to questions and requests;
  • Review suggestions for new ARCvi resources;
  • Improve website content, accessibility, and usability;
  • Understand how visitors use ARCvi resources;
  • Communicate about trainings, events, or new resources when a visitor has requested such communication;
  • Maintain website security and prevent spam or misuse; and
  • Support evaluation of ARCvi’s reach and usefulness.

Submitting a question or suggestion does not enroll a visitor in a research study or create a service-provider, clinical, legal, or emergency-response relationship.

How We Share Information

ARCvi does not sell personal information. Information may be shared with members of the ARCvi or Temple University team who need it to respond to a request, maintain the website, or improve ARCvi resources. We may disclose information when required by law, necessary to protect the security of the website, or needed to prevent fraud, abuse, or harm.

Contact Forms and Resource Suggestions

Information submitted through ARCvi contact forms will be used to respond to the visitor or consider the suggestion provided. Suggestions may inform future ARCvi content, but ARCvi will not publicly identify the person who submitted an idea without permission.

Visitors should not use the contact form to disclose confidential participant information, protected health information, details of active violence-related conflicts, or other sensitive case information.

Email Communications

When visitors voluntarily join an email list or request updates, ARCvi may use their email addresses to send the requested information. Visitors may unsubscribe at any time by using the link included in an email or contacting ARCvi.

ARCvi will not add someone to a general mailing list solely because that person submitted a question unless the form clearly asks for and receives permission.

Cookies and Analytics

ARCvi.org may use cookies or similar technologies to operate the site, remember visitor preferences, measure website traffic, and understand which resources are most useful.

Visitors may adjust their browser settings to block or delete cookies. Some website features may not function as intended when cookies are disabled. A cookie banner or consent-management tool may be needed depending on which analytics and third-party services the site uses and where visitors are located.

Data Security and Retention

ARCvi and Temple University use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards to protect information submitted through the website. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage can be guaranteed to be completely secure. Information will be retained only as long as reasonably necessary to respond to requests, administer the website, evaluate ARCvi resources, meet institutional requirements, or comply with applicable law.

The FTC recommends collecting only the information an organization needs, protecting it appropriately, and disposing of it securely when it is no longer required. (Federal Trade Commission)

Importantly, ARCvi.org contains many links to websites and resources operated by other organizations. ARCvi and Temple University are not responsible for the privacy, security, accessibility, accuracy, or content practices of external websites. Visitors should review the privacy policies of those sites before submitting personal information.

Children’s Privacy

ARCvi.org is intended primarily for organizations, professionals, practitioners, researchers, and other adults. The website is not designed to collect personal information directly from children under age 13. Visitors should not submit identifying information about minors through the website contact form.

Your Choices

You may contact ARCvi to:

  • Ask what personal information you submitted through the website;
  • Correct inaccurate contact information;
  • Request removal of information you voluntarily provided, subject to legal or institutional retention requirements; or
  • Unsubscribe from ARCvi communications.

ARCvi may update this Privacy Policy as the website, its services, or applicable requirements change. The revised policy will be posted on this page with an updated effective date.
