YEAH Philly Helps Launch National Juvenile Probation Reform Campaign

YEAH Philly and The Gault Center, through the Juvenile Probation Accountability Coalition (JPAC), have launched Under These Conditions: Accountability Should Be Possible, a national campaign focused on reforming juvenile probation. Led in part by young people directly impacted by the system, the campaign calls for clearer and more limited probation conditions, greater transparency in how juvenile probation operates, and requirements that probation conditions be developmentally appropriate for adolescents.
The campaign also includes a new JPAC Toolkit with messaging guidance, narrative strategy, and a self-assessment tool, along with new research examining the history, harms, and current realities of juvenile probation. In Pennsylvania, JPAC is working with legislators and other stakeholders to translate these priorities into policy change.
